What you need to know
Does your child have energy to burn in the school holidays? Or maybe they love their screen time? With our life-size bike safety track and our augmented-reality safety quiz your kids will have lots of fun... and may even learn a thing or two about road safety.
Constable Care School Holiday sessions run 9.30am - 12.30pm on selected dates during the school holidays. Please click here to check the calendar.
At specified times throughout the day our staff will run the following road safety education experiences:
9.45am - classroom road safety lesson and road sign tour
11.00am - augmented reality pedestrian safety experience using iPads for 4-7 year olds
11.30am - augmented reality pedestrian safety experience using iPads for 8-11 year olds
*11.00am (approx) a coffee van visits for parents!
Tickets are just $16.50 per child, and accompanying adults are free! A parent or guardian must remain with the child at all times.
What to bring
- water bottle
- sun protective hat
- enclosed shoes
- clothes suitable for riding bikes and weather appropriate
- long hair tied low to allow for helmets to be worn
- a snack if desired.
All equipment including bikes, helmets and iPads are provided. You are welcome to bring your own bike and/or helmet if you wish. Please note that the Constable Care Safety School is an outdoor environment with no cafe facilities.
How to get here
The Constable Care Safety School is located at 48 Sixth Avenue in Maylands. It is easily accessible via train, bus or car. We encourage you to consider using public transport.
Maylands Station is just 600 metres away. The walk is easy with pedestrian access via Whatley Crescent, Sixth Avenue and the pedestrian overpass on Guildford Road. Please refer to Google maps for location and directions, or watch the video of St Michael's Primary School walking from the station below.
Bus stops are located on Guildford Rd just 30 metres from the Safety School entrance where Transperth bus routes 41, 48 and 55 stop.
The car park is accessible from Peninsula Road (see map below). Please be cautious as this carpark is in the vicinity of a vacation care centre and there may be children around.
