Constable Care Comfort Packs

Constable Care's Winter Appeal

Constable Care works hard to keep children out of dangerous situations, but sadly the reality is that sometimes kids get caught up. Over 1,100 children in WA have to leave home every year as a result of abuse, neglect or other crisis situations, and often they do not have time to take even the basic essentials with them. That’s why we provide up to 1000 Comfort Packs every year. It can be difficult to keep up with demand ... this is where you can help!

Can you help?

We’re currently desperately short of the following 3 items. Can you donate?

  • Pyjamas – all ages

  • Undies – 11-16 years

  • Socks – 0-6 years

All items are to be new. Unfortunately we cannot accept pre-loved items.

Why Comfort Packs?

Frontline workers such as police officers and child protection workers are often present at the moment a child’s life changes forever. Children are at more risk of the emotional, physical and psychological effects associated with crisis & trauma than anyone else, and it’s critical that after a child experiences trauma that those frontline workers are able to break down barriers and help them feel safe. It’s not just about earning their trust, it’s about comforting them when they need it most, and reminding them that their community cares.

In times of crisis and trauma, children need normality, dignity and comfort more than ever, and a Comfort Pack can really make a difference.

"We utilised the comfort bags with huge success whilst I was attached to the Derby Detectives and believe they would be of great value to our unit dealing with vulnerable children and victims of crime."

Sergeant Jason Harris, South Hedland Police

Our comfort packs are age and gender appropriate, and include items such as pyjamas, hairbrush, soap, toothbrush, a towel, a storybook, an activity book with pencils, and a Constable Care Comfort Teddy Bear.
