Prestigious, independent and high profile.
Eight separate independent judging panels, each representing a mix of business and community expertise, meet to evaluate the nominees and shortlist the Award category finalists. A winner is then selected for each of the seven Child Safety Awards. From these seven Award winners, the recipient of the prestigious Child Safety Award of the Year is determined.
The gala dinner Awards evening, held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, attracts a large number of WA dignitaries and VIPs. The 2015 Awards were attended by Her Excellency the Governor Kerry Sanderson, the WA Chief Justice Wayne Martin, three State Government Ministers and Shadow Ministers, three Commissioners, several members of Parliament and many senior figures from the corporate world. The 400+ guest event was hosted by Channel 7’s Rick Ardon and Monika Kos.
The media partners for the Awards, Channel 7, Mix 94.5 and The West Australian, ensure that there is a high degree of media coverage during the nominations period, in the lead up to the Awards night, and for the winners afterwards.
All Award winners receive a Child Safety service medal and honour certificate. Thanks to the Awards program partners, cash prizes of $1000 were also provided to each of the Individual Award category winners. An additional cash prize of $2000 was awarded to the recipient of the 2015 Child Safety Award of the Year. This very special industry event and fundraising gala is a wonderful evening of tribute and celebration!
